A timeline creation module for Moodle. This makes use of the Similie Timeline project's snazzy AJAX-based timeline tool.

My intention here was to create an input form to allow the average user to input data that could be displayed by the Simile Timeline tool - normally the tool reads in an XML file, which can be a tad disconcerting for the average teacher to use. I seem to remember getting the basic functionality working, then moving house, which made me forget about it. Will get back to it Real Soon Now.

This project suffered rather from feeping creaturism. It started out as my own Flash-based Timeline widget, then I discovered the excellent Similie project timeline so moved to using that instead, then figured my own timeline object had some important differences that it was worthwhile retaining (ability to handle Flash movies, designed to be easy to print as well as show on screen), so eventually the idea became to make a catch-all front end for inputting timeline data to be used with a variety of timeline widgets.

The zip archive (about a megabyte in size) at the bottom of the page contains my work so far. That's a copy of the Simlie timeline, my input form and my own Flash-based timeline object plus source code.
